Meet Your Guide
Tracy Chalmers
Grief Facilitator & Community Leader
Tracy creates intentional spaces where grief is met with compassion, not judgment. With the intention to honouring loss in all its forms, Tracy guides gatherings that remind us we don't have to grieve alone. Her approach centres on witnessing, community, and the understanding that grief isn't something to overcome - it's something to move through together. Tracy Chalmers (she/her) is grateful and humbled to be living on the Coast Salish lands of the North Shore of Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2017, she co-founded the End-of-Life Doula Association of Canada and has since served as an end-of-life doula, educator, and forest therapy guide through her organization, Endwell. She is the author of The Nature of the Journey: A Trail Guide to Companioning Your Person on the End-of-Life Journey, a hospice volunteer and mentor, and has facilitated the End-of-Life Doula Care program at Douglas College.
What to Expect
This 90-minute gathering is a welcoming place for anyone navigating loss - whether you have experienced the death of someone you care about, a relationship, a dream, or something else that's changed your life. Led by Tracy Chalmers, you'll begin with grounding practices to support you to feel rooted and present. You will hear a reflection on grief and community, explore a passage or poem together, and have 10 minutes of silent grief practice. There will be the opportunity to share your story if you want to, or simply listen and witness others. There's no pressure, no expectations, and no attempts to "fix" your grief. Because you're not broken. Grief is a natural, human response to loss. Grief asks to be seen, heard, and held by others who understand. That is what this gathering offers.
Why People Join
"I came not knowing what to expect, but I left feeling held. Just being in a room with others who truly understand loss changed something in me." — A participant just like you, finding their way through grief.
I met Tracy through a good friend after experiencing a profound and unexpected loss. She companioned me through that incredibly painful time and helped me find my way with intention, timely resources and gentle support. Her depth of experience in guiding me through grief was deeply meaningful and insightful. Recently, through a different kind of grief - anticipating the end of life of my mom - she helped me create guiding principles for exactly how I wanted and needed to show up for her. Tracy helped me focus on being present, patient and loving through my mom's transition. Having Tracy as a guide through these experiences has been life changing. I couldn't recommend her more genuinely and whole-heartedly to anyone seeking her experience and knowledge.

I first met Tracy when she facilitated my End-of-Life Doula training in 2020. I was so impressed by her empathy and sincerity and her ability to lead all of us in such a sensitive, compassionate and knowledgeable way. Training with Tracy was a profound experience and has changed my life. I have been inspired by her to dedicate myself to provide EOL support as a hospice volunteer, grief group co-facilitator, and grief yoga instructor. I also reached out to Tracy around the death of my father in 2022, and I'm grateful for her gentle caring support. Tracy is a light and touches everyone she meets with her beautiful soul.

I would like to share my experiences going through losing two beloved family members with the support of Tracy, from EndWell. I unfortunately lost two so very important people in my life within the past 18 months of each other. I reached out to Tracy as I was at a lost on how to navigate this. I needed help, guidance and support and reached out the EndWell. My brother in law passed away shortly before my beloved beautiful partner of 25 years. Tracy was very comforting, I felt the warmth and love from Tracy who I had just recently met. Tracy spent time with my partner, talking, holding her hands and just being there. Tracy was there at the end for both of us. Tracy helped and guided my two teenage nephews as losing their father was exteremly hard on them. Tracy talked about how grief evolves in our lives and it never goes away. Tracy spent time with us giving the family tools to use in the future. I truly believe it helped. It’s really not easy losing people in our lives, especially your partner. Having met Tracy and having her with me every step of the way, meant the world to me. My world was crumbling and I felt that Tracy was the definition of caregiver. Thank you Tracy from the bottom of my heart for being my support before and after this unimaginable time in my life. I am blessed.
